January 2nd, 2017

It’s our¬†11th
Kristin’s Krusade 5K Run/Walk.

Saturday, April 8, 2017
at Saint Joseph’s University.

This will be our 11th. Let’s make it our best!

We’re looking forward to spectacular participation from Saint Joseph’s students, faculty, friends and family members. The more who join us, the more we can push the word out about the dating violence issue.

Screen Shot 2015-04-23 at 7.18.43 AMLast year was the best events we’ve ever held. We can do even better in 2017. But we need YOU!!!

Many of your friends have pledged to join us for¬†this event. And we’re looking for you to be with¬†us,¬†too.

You don‚Äôt need to be an athlete to participate in Kristin’s Krusade. We have more walkers than runners. But everyone who shares this day with us understands the importance of focusing on¬†this critical cause.

This could be¬†about your daughter, your sister, your cousin, your BFF, your son, your mother ‚Äď anyone you know can become victim of this insidious abuse. Even you. The possibility of it¬†touching your lives¬†is higher than becoming involved in a car accident or most anything else you worry about happening. We intend to dial the statistics down in our lifetime. But it will take¬†all of us.

We have seen what great participation can do to get the word out about this issue. Kristin’s Krusade is our best way of gaining great awareness. Thousands know about dating violence from knowledge gained from our event. But thousands more need to know.

Hello, I am Bill Mitchell, Kristin’s father. The same Kristin this event is named after.

I want to thank each of you for focusing on my daughter’s run/walk and coming out and join us. There are some who have never missed this event going back to 2006. That’s very strong support. We are always welcoming newcomers to this cause, so please join us.

My family is no different from yours. Regular people living their lives until a call came from the police one evening. We never expected a devastating tragedy to come into our lives, but it did. And it still happens to other families, too. The aim of the Kristin Mitchell Foundation us to help others so they never need to lose a loved one to dating violence. We have learned the hard way and what we know we teach. And what we teach has helped quite a lot.

Please join us on April 8th. It’ll only occupy the morning that day and you will feel like you’ve done something good for people you care about. You will also learn a few points about how to prevent dating violence from ensnaring someone you know.

I will be there and I hope you see me and speak with me.

    Thank you,
    Bill Mitchell
