Work with Us

How you can help? Volunteer!

We are always looking for great volunteer help. The days that lead up to our annual Kristin’s Krusade 5k Run/Walk are extremely busy — but you can help us!

What is expected of me?

We ask that all of our volunteers are committed to taking on specific tasks leading up to the Krusade and/or on the day of the Krusade. The time commitment varies depending on which role you chose to take. Our volunteers will be expected to attend a few in-person meetings to meet with the foundation board members and to discuss planning efforts.

This is also an opportunity for our volunteers to meet and build connections with each other for the planning process. All volunteer activities will be overseen by Patty Mark, and you will be asked to stay in constant communication with them regarding your volunteer work. We will be using the Google Docs program to remain organized and keep tabs on everyone’s progress.

How do I become a volunteer?

It’s easy! If you are interested in becoming a member of the Kristin’s Krusade volunteer committee, please contact Patty Mark at

What is Kristin’s Krusade?

Kristin’s Krusade is our annual 5K run/walk held at Saint Joseph’s University in memory of Kristin Mitchell, an SJU graduate who was brutally murdered by her boyfriend in 2005. The Krusade aims to raise awareness about dating violence at Saint Joseph’s University and the surrounding Philadelphia community. Funds raised through Kristin’s Krusade enable the Kristin Mitchell Foundation to sponsor dating violence awareness programs at colleges and communities in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

When is Kristin’s Krusade?

Our next Kristin’s Krusade 5K Run/Walk will be Sunday, April 10, 2016. This will be our 10th annual Kristin’s Krusade and we are determined to make it our biggest and best yet.

We are open to strategies and ideas that can further our mission to get the word out. Nobody wants another tragedy, and there are so many ways you can help to prevent this from happening. Please contact us to at
